Nita Englund
Like a lot of ski jumpers, Nita tried out the sport after watching her sibling (a brother) ski jump. She’s been hurling herself off jumps for more than 13 years now and continues to love the experience every single time.
She competed in many European Continental Cup comps in 2010 and her teammates expect the teenager to continue to tackle the experience with gusto, like everything else in her life. This is a girl who swims in waterfalls, runs through streams, bikes up the wrong way on highways, inline skates down mountains and takes showers in glacial lakes.
She also loves to run, bike, slackline, play soccer and kickbox. In her down time, Nita enjoys art, photography and cooking.
Nita grew up in Wisconsin near a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where they love their ski jumping. She finished second in the Nordic Combined Junior Olympics in 2007 and second in the 2008 Special Jumping Junior Olympics in Ishpeming, Mich. Nita has been in the top 25 three times on the Continental Cup tour. She wants to get the most out of her ski jumping career and has ambitions to also coach one day.
