Nina Lussi

Nina is a native of Lake Placid, New York, who has been jumping since she was 8-years-old. She used to ski race on the weekends, but needed something to do during the week, so her parents signed her and her brother up for ski jumping and the rest is history.

She is currently attending school at Skigymnasium Stams, in Stams, Tirol, Austria. As she progressed in her ski jumping, it became impossible for her to improve as an elite athlete and go to traditional high school, so she moved to Stams where the school’s main focus is on balancing skiing and academics. Nina also has the chance to jump on numerous hills throughout Europe and she continues to learn the German language.

Nina is a multi-talented athlete who has competed in the Junior Olympics for cross-country running. She also runs track, rides horses and plays varsity soccer.

Ultimately she wants to take advantage of everything that the pioneers of women's ski jumping have done for the sport, so she is setting her sights on participating in the World Championships and on being an Olympic athlete one day.
